How Ibuprofen Works
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. This reduces the production of prostaglandins — chemicals responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever.
Unlike paracetamol, ibuprofen has anti-inflammatory properties, making it particularly effective for pain involving inflammation such as muscle strains, dental pain, and period cramps.
